Having this line is not useful at all as it doesn't contain any
information and shouldn't be filled in the future as git-shortlog can
provide the information about people who changed the given file more
more reliably than consulting the comments in any case.
Keep the non-blank lines for historical purposes.
Also update the listctrl sample to show it's effect on the second column
wxLIST_AUTOSIZE (Ctrl+R) to resize the column to content
wxLIST_AUTOSIZE_USEHEADER (Ctrl+Shift+R) to resize it to header section
This is a combination of running clang-tidy with modernize-use-nullptr
check for some ports (GTK, X11, OSX) and manual changes to the ports for
which it couldn't be used easily (MSW, DFB) and also manually updating
the docs.
Also replace NULL with null or nullptr in the comments as this is more
consistent with the use of nullptr in the code and makes it simpler to
grep for the remaining occurrences of NULL itself.
And also use null in the assert messages.
Only a few occurrences of "NULL" are still left in non-C files, mostly
corresponding to unclear comments or string output which it might not be
safe to change.
It seems like this function will need to be used in every implementation
of EVT_LIST_COL_CLICK handler when using sorting, so it makes sense to
provide it in the library itself.
The old API seems unnecessarily complex, it is simpler to just let the
application call ShowSortIndicator() itself from its
wxEVT_LIST_COL_CLICK handler, which needs to be defined anyhow in order
to actually sort the items, rather than require it to enable sort
indicator, explicitly set it initially and then remember to not set it
any longer in response to the column clicks.
Also make RemoveSortIndicator() non-virtual and implement it simply as
ShowSortIndicator(-1) because this actually simplifies the code too.
This control was removed during the Carbon code removal in commit
5ba67c67e4, so the system option
does nothing now (and was only mentioned in the documentation
and the sample).
Calling InsertItemInReportView() with invalid index results in a series
of asserts, so avoid doing this.
Note that there seems to be an unrelated bug in wxGTK which results in
this code being executed at all, as normally the definition of a menu
item using Ctrl-I as an accelerator should have prevented this from
happening.
Replace SetListRulesAlternateColourOnBlank() taking 2 arguments, with
the second of them being used only when the first one is true, with a
simpler but still sufficient ExtendRulesAndAlternateColour(bool).
Make the new method virtual and define it as doing nothing in
wxListCtrlBase class, so that it's still available, even if currently
not implemented, in wxMSW.
Also simplify the implementation, fix style problems and other minor
improvements.
Previously they were both limited to the part occupied by the items
only, add a new method allowing to extend them to the whole client
window area.
See https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/2106
Avoid sending spurious wxEVT_LIST_ITEM_{FOCUSED, SELECTED, DESELECTED}
events and make the generic version consistent with the behaviour of the
native wxMSW one.
Also add/extend the tests and slightly improve the sample.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/2044
Pass wxStrings directly to wxString::Format("%s") and similar
pseudo-vararg functions, there is no need for c_str() there since
wxWidgets 2.9.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1009
This completes changes of 0873abb836 which
replaced manual layout code with sizers, but broke layout after
recreating the control in the process.
This change notably fixes the control becoming invisible, due to having
the default too small size, in non-report modes.
This method can be used to change the list view header appearance.
Add the method declaration, documentation, show it in the sample and implement
it for wxMSW (only, for now).
The two existing structs were completely identical, just replace them with a
single wxItemAttr.
Notice that wxDataViewItemAttr is not quite the same, although pretty similar,
so it remains separate for now. It would be nice to combine it with this one
too in the future, e.g. to make it simpler to make items bold in a wxListCtrl.
Make wxGenericListCtrl used under wxGTK and wxOSX behave the same as the
native wxMSW wxListCtrl and wxTreeCtrl under all platforms and only generate
ITEM_RIGHT_CLICK events when an item was actually clicked, i.e. don't generate
them for the clicks completely outside of the client area.
Closes#4711.
Use both the contents and the header width when wxLIST_AUTOSIZE_USEHEADER is
given instead of just the latter.
Also make both wxLIST_AUTOSIZE_USEHEADER and the previously implemented
wxLIST_AUTOSIZE work efficiently for the virtual list controls by reusing
wxMaxWidthCalculatorBase already used in the generic wxDataViewCtrl.
Closes#10326.
This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

Mostly copy wxGenericTreeCtrl incremental search implementation to
wxGenericListCtrl (unfortunately there is no simple way to reuse this code
currently), including the recently added EnableBellOnNoMatch() method.
Update the sample to test it, the key event handling in it had to be modified
to allow it.

wxHAS_XXX symbols need to be checked with #ifdef, not #if.
See #1614 (as this change was part of the patch submitted there, even if the
ticket itself is unrelated).

wxListCtrl::EndEditLabel() isn't available in wxUniv, it's wxMSW-only.
This fixes the sample compilation in wxUniv/MSW build.

Add a special symbol which is defined only if the icons and other images (e.g.
cursor) are in the separate resource files and don't need to be embedded as
XPMs in the main program.
This makes the checks more clear and more customizable as it's enough to
change wxHAS_IMAGES_IN_RESOURCES definition instead of changing many platform
checks.
