No real changes, just rebake all the makefiles after the addition of
wxwin.extraLdflags, which results in an extra space even when these
flags are empty in webview-chromium branch.
This should have been done in f37401dde3 (Merge branch
'webview-chromium', 2024-01-19)
"base" library must always come last in the samples bakefiles as the
list of wx libraries to link with is generated when processing it, so
putting the "net" library after it had no effect.
See #23723.
It might be unnecessary to define it on command line at all, as it's
done in wx/setup.h, but keep doing it for now.
However stop using a variable for this, as setting wxUSE_UNICODE to 0 is
not supported any longer.
This is a combination of running clang-tidy with modernize-use-nullptr
check for some ports (GTK, X11, OSX) and manual changes to the ports for
which it couldn't be used easily (MSW, DFB) and also manually updating
the docs.
Also replace NULL with null or nullptr in the comments as this is more
consistent with the use of nullptr in the code and makes it simpler to
grep for the remaining occurrences of NULL itself.
And also use null in the assert messages.
Only a few occurrences of "NULL" are still left in non-C files, mostly
corresponding to unclear comments or string output which it might not be
safe to change.
Remove the port files and references to it from the common headers and
elsewhere.
Also remove GPE (GNOME PDA Environment) support as libgpewidget is
unmaintained since 2006 or so and has never been really used.
Use __WXGTK__ to test for any version of wxGTK now. Still define
__WXGTK20__ for compatibility, but always define it now and don't test
for it in the library code.
This port hasn't been updated for ages and is not used by anybody any
longer, so remove its code to facilitate maintenance.
Also remove references to this port from the documentation and most of
the other places (VMS-specific descrip.vms files still check for it
because it's not clear how to update them all), including configure.
Regenerate the latter and rebake all makefiles.
Finally document that this port is not available any longer.
Fix the bug introduced in ec0734f96f (Install DLLs in bindir, not
libdir, when using MSW toolchains, 2021-01-09): the directory where the
DLLs were installed wasn't created any more, resulting in errors if it
didn't exist.
Update to latest bakefile version adding the missing mkdir command to
fix this and also use a released bakefile version for the wx makefiles.
Regenerate configure to match the new version.
See #14601.
The year is now included in the copyright string used in the makefiles
and so they need to be regenerated every time the year changes (which
happens surprisingly frequently).
It would be better to define a single variable with the year number to
avoid having to do this in the future.
For some reason, we used "vc_x64_lib" as the output directory for the
libraries, but "vc_mswu_x64" as the output directory for the samples.
Place the arch suffix, i.e. "_x64" part, always after the compiler
prefix (possibly including version), for consistency with both the
library output directories and with MSBuild project files, as
build/msw/wx_setup.props uses $(wxCompilerPrefix)$(wxArchSuffix)_...
as wxIntRootDir value.
Simply remove the not existent any longer shared-ld-sh from clean
targets in all makefile.
This should have been done in e663d9af2b (Stop using shared-ld wrapper
script under Mac, 2021-07-06).
All BCC makefiles were removed as a part of "Remove support for Borland
C++ compiler" PR; however, a few of them sneaked back as a part of the
newly introduced wxWebRequest.
Remove them for good.
This event was processed in a worker thread, which was different from
all the other events and also almost surely not thread-safe, so change
this and queue it for processing in the main thread instead.
Use wxMemoryBuffer instead of non-owning pointer in wxWebRequestEvent
and reset the buffer used internally every time to ensure the data is
still available by the time the event is processed.
Also increase the amount of data downloaded in the "advanced" page of
the sample as it has to be greater than wxWEBREQUEST_BUFFER_SIZE, which
is currently 64KiB, to have a chance of seeing the value actually
change, otherwise all the data arrives in a single event. As it is,
using the maximal size supported by the httpbin service, we only get 2
events.
This is shorter and doesn't imply that just the name (and not the full
path) is being returned.
Also rename wxWebResponse::GetFileName() to GetDataFile() for the same
reasons and for consistency. And document this previously undocumented
method.
Cancel the request and wait until it actually is cancelled when exiting
the sample.
This is a bit ugly, especially the busy-waiting part, but still better
than potentially crashing.
Use wxLogStatus() to update the status bar, this is shorter and simpler
than using GetStatusBar()->SetStatusText(wxString::Format(...)).
Also use wxFrame::SetStatusText() which forwards to wxStatusBar method
with the same name when we want to just clear the status bar.
No real changes.
Don't force the application code to deal with wxObjectDataPtr<> or,
worse, calling {Inc,Dec}Ref() manually by hiding it inside the wx
objects themselves and giving the value-like semantics to them.
There should be no real changes in the behaviour, but the API does
change significantly. Notably, wxWebRequest is not a wxEvtHandler itself
any longer, as this would be incompatible with the value semantics, and
an event handler needs to be specified when creating it, so that it
could be notified about the request state changes.
