This parameter was always "true" in the existing calls to this function
and the underlying UseClippingView() didn't support passing "false" to
it anyhow, so it seems simpler and more clear to just remove the
parameter.
It also avoids clang warnings about it being unused.
No real changes.
We need to use a native clip view for things to behave correctly under
this OS version, otherwise scrollbars can be overdrawn by the window
contents.
Closes#24067.
Closes#24073.
The new function does the same thing as the Mac-specific
OSXMakeDPIFromScaleFactor() that it replaces but is also defined in
wxGTK where it will be used too.
Having this line is not useful at all as it doesn't contain any
information and shouldn't be filled in the future as git-shortlog can
provide the information about people who changed the given file more
more reliably than consulting the comments in any case.
Keep the non-blank lines for historical purposes.
This avoids crash if wxVSCROLL or wxHSCROLL is used with wxGLCanvas
which calls wxWindow::Create() after calling DontCreatePeer() because
the Create() tries to use the not (yet) existent peer in
MacCreateScrollBars().
Avoid this problem by moving the call to MacCreateScrollBars() to
MacPostControlCreate(), which doesn't change anything for the windows
that do not call DontCreatePeer(), but ensures that the peer already
exists by the time MacPostControlCreate() is called for those that do.
Closes#23536.
This is a combination of running clang-tidy with modernize-use-nullptr
check for some ports (GTK, X11, OSX) and manual changes to the ports for
which it couldn't be used easily (MSW, DFB) and also manually updating
the docs.
Also replace NULL with null or nullptr in the comments as this is more
consistent with the use of nullptr in the code and makes it simpler to
grep for the remaining occurrences of NULL itself.
And also use null in the assert messages.
Only a few occurrences of "NULL" are still left in non-C files, mostly
corresponding to unclear comments or string output which it might not be
safe to change.
Fix the state of the check/radio items in the menu by updating the
template used by macOS to create the actual menu after showing it and
possibly changing the items state.
This is not ideal because changing the state from the program, e.g.
using wxMenuItem::Check(), still doesn't work correctly, i.e. isn't
reflected in the menu when it's shown, but better than nothing until a
better solution (which ideally would update the menu just before showing
it, but it's not clear how exactly can we do it, knowing that we don't
get wxEVT_MENU_OPEN for this menu neither) can be found.
Calling wxWindow::SetForegroundColour() also changed the window font,
which was unexpected and unnecessary.
Add a separate peer SetForegroundColour() method and implement it to
change just the colour in Cocoa version (and leave unimplemented, just
as it was before, for iOS) and use it in wxWindow to avoid the font
change.
Add wxWindow::EnableVisibleFocus() for changing focus ring behavior on
macOS (currently not implemented elsewhere, although GTK+ has a
discouraged option to do it).
It ended up returning the result of the base class method anyhow, just
after doing a lot of unnecessary work, so this commit shouldn't change
anything, but should significantly speed up this function.
We may want to explore the possibility of implementing this method
natively using GetPeer()->IsVisible() later, as it could be faster than
our own implementation, but we need to ensure that this always returns
the same result as before, which might not be the case when the TLW is
in the process of being shown or hidden, so don't do this for now.
Closes https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/pull/1911Closes#18645.
No real changes, just clean up sources by removing trailing spaces from
all the non-generated files.
This should hopefully avoid future commits mixing significant changes
with insignificant whitespace ones.
Don't request touch event generation for all windows by default, this
has an inherent overhead and is not needed for 99% of the application
windows, so require calling EnableTouchEvents() explicitly to do it
instead.
Note that this requires properly initializing gesture recognizers in
wxOSX now that they're not always allocated, otherwise releasing them
when destroying the window would crash.
This virtual method is implemented in wxWindowBase class only when
wxUSE_DRAG_AND_DROP==1, so it should be re-implemented in the derived class
wxWindowMac also only when wxUSE_DRAG_AND_DROP==1.
Cocoa has been the default toolkit in wxWidgets for a long time. There is really no good reason to use Carbon in 2016 and this removes a lot of unused and unmaintained code.
OSXGetViewOrWindow() virtual methods were defined in headers and were casting
NSView*/NSWindow* to void*, which the compiler complains about with ARC
enabled. Rather than writing conditional code in the header, move the
implementations into .cpp files. They were virtual anyway, so this is no less
efficient, and doesn't leave any problematic code in public headers.

This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

Don't crash when creating a plain wxButton with wxBU_NOTEXT style. This
happened because we skipped creating the peer (real implementation) in this
case entirely on the assumption that we were creating a wxBitmapButton, but
this is not necessarily the case. So now test that the creation of the peer is
really disabled before skipping it (this required adding ShouldCreatePeer()
accessor).
Merging wxWidgetImpl::CreateButton() and CreateBitmapButton() (and the same
thing for toggle buttons) would still be a better solution but while it's
trivial to do for Cocoa, it isn't for Carbon. And we can't use a single
function for Cocoa but different functions for Carbon, so for now just
continue to use this hack.

Applied patch by snowleopard2 fixing a bunch of typos such as misspellings and double words in the documentation. Combined the patch with some local queued typos waiting to be committed as well as adding new typo fixes inspired by the patch.
Function names with American spelling were not changed nor was third-party code touched. The only code changes involve some changes in strings that are translated ("Can not" -> "Cannot").

There are no real changes in this commit but it removes all trailing white
space from our source files. This avoids problems when applying patches and
making diffs and it would be nice to prevent it from reappearing.

Consistently use only "wx/foo.h" instead of "include/wx/foo.h" ("include" is
always implicit anyhow).
Also use "src/osx" instead of "src/mac" for the files in this directory.

This version animates the window asynchronously and is being checked in just
to preserve it in svn if we later decide to return to this semantics. It will
be replaced by synchronous animation in the next commit.
