Replace user-specified empty constructors and destructors with the
compiler-generated versions, which has a number of advantages for code
generation, in addition to being more clear.

Having this line is not useful at all as it doesn't contain any
information and shouldn't be filled in the future as git-shortlog can
provide the information about people who changed the given file more
more reliably than consulting the comments in any case.
Keep the non-blank lines for historical purposes.
This is a combination of running clang-tidy with modernize-use-nullptr
check for some ports (GTK, X11, OSX) and manual changes to the ports for
which it couldn't be used easily (MSW, DFB) and also manually updating
the docs.
Also replace NULL with null or nullptr in the comments as this is more
consistent with the use of nullptr in the code and makes it simpler to
grep for the remaining occurrences of NULL itself.
And also use null in the assert messages.
Only a few occurrences of "NULL" are still left in non-C files, mostly
corresponding to unclear comments or string output which it might not be
safe to change.
Remove the port files and references to it from the common headers and
elsewhere.
Also remove GPE (GNOME PDA Environment) support as libgpewidget is
unmaintained since 2006 or so and has never been really used.
Use __WXGTK__ to test for any version of wxGTK now. Still define
__WXGTK20__ for compatibility, but always define it now and don't test
for it in the library code.
This port hasn't been updated for ages and is not used by anybody any
longer, so remove its code to facilitate maintenance.
Also remove references to this port from the documentation and most of
the other places (VMS-specific descrip.vms files still check for it
because it's not clear how to update them all), including configure.
Regenerate the latter and rebake all makefiles.
Finally document that this port is not available any longer.
This avoids problems with deleting child windows which are parents of
wxMessageDialog before the dialog itself is destroyed and was already done in
wxGTK, but not in wxMSW nor wxOSX. Do it in all ports now by calling
GetParentForModalDialog() from wxMessageDialogBase ctor itself instead of
depending on the port-specific wxMessageDialog to do it.

It was unexpected that wxMessageDialog::GetTitle() returned empty string even
when non-empty caption, which is just another word for title, was specified.
Implement GetTitle() as synonym for GetCaption() and also provide SetTitle()
for consistency.

This merges in the latest sources from GSoC 2014 wxQt project with just a few
minor corrections, mostly undoing wrong changes to common files in that branch
(results of a previous bad merge?) and getting rid of whitespace-only changes.
Also remove debug logging from wxGrid.

This port is not used and is not being worked on, so remove it to reduce the
amount of the code which needs to be updated for every global change.
Also remove tests for VisualAge compiler which isn't used since ages.

This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

Don't complain if neither wxOK nor wxYES[_NO] are specified but just assume
wxOK by default. This allows the code calling wxMessageBox() with just an icon
flag to continue to work in the same way in 2.9 as it did in 2.8.

The platform targeted by this port doesn't exist any more and the port never
achieved really working state so remove the code to avoid having to maintain

Implement support for wxHELP for wxMSW, wxGTK and wxOSX/Cocoa (at least when
showing the message box from the main thread, there doesn't seem to be any way
to show more than three buttons with CFUserNotificationDisplayAlert() so
"Help" button is not supported when using it).
This is useful not only on its own, i.e. to allow the user to ask for help,
but also because it brings the total number of buttons supported by the
message dialog to 4, meaning that more choices can be offered to the user
(which is rarely, but not quite never, useful).

Fixed commented names (path, filename, and extension) of files in include/ and src/. Prepended the names in src/ with "src/" everywhere, while starting those in include/wx/ with "wx/".

The storage class must come first in a declaration so put it in front of
WXDLLIMPEXP_DATA_CORE() and not inside it to avoid warnings from some
compilers (notably Intel one).

Custom labels set for wxGenericMessageDialog buttons were simply ignored as it
used CreateSeparatedButtonSizer() to create the actual buttons which in turn
always used the standard labels.
Fix this by explicitly creating the buttons with custom labels if necessary.
This also fixes custom label support in wxGenericRichMessageDialog deriving
from this class.

Use the task dialog instead of the legacy message box for wxMessageDialog
implementation under wxMSW on recent (Vista and later) Windows versions.
As part of this change, remove wxMessageDialogWithCustomLabels and integrate
its functionality in wxMessageDialogBase itself as it's now used by all
platforms.

Remove code duplication and inconsistencies among different ports by using a
single function in the base class for the determination of the effective icon
style to use, correctly handling both wxICON_NONE and the absence of any
wxICON_XXX styles.

for this the real dialog creation is now done on in ShowModal() in all
ports
