Having this line is not useful at all as it doesn't contain any
information and shouldn't be filled in the future as git-shortlog can
provide the information about people who changed the given file more
more reliably than consulting the comments in any case.
Keep the non-blank lines for historical purposes.
This function was supposed to be overridden in the subclasses to allow
efficiently implementing GetDataSize(), but it wasn't actually called
any longer since 229f00eb69 (Translate wxTextDataObject to/from native
EOL format., 2012-07-29).
And while it was probably a mistake to stop calling it in that commit,
the fact that nobody has complained about it since then seems to prove
that nobody was overriding it anyhow and it's not worth resurrecting it,
so just deprecate it instead.
This is a combination of running clang-tidy with modernize-use-nullptr
check for some ports (GTK, X11, OSX) and manual changes to the ports for
which it couldn't be used easily (MSW, DFB) and also manually updating
the docs.
Also replace NULL with null or nullptr in the comments as this is more
consistent with the use of nullptr in the code and makes it simpler to
grep for the remaining occurrences of NULL itself.
And also use null in the assert messages.
Only a few occurrences of "NULL" are still left in non-C files, mostly
corresponding to unclear comments or string output which it might not be
safe to change.
Remove the port files and references to it from the common headers and
elsewhere.
Also remove GPE (GNOME PDA Environment) support as libgpewidget is
unmaintained since 2006 or so and has never been really used.
Use __WXGTK__ to test for any version of wxGTK now. Still define
__WXGTK20__ for compatibility, but always define it now and don't test
for it in the library code.
This port hasn't been updated for ages and is not used by anybody any
longer, so remove its code to facilitate maintenance.
Also remove references to this port from the documentation and most of
the other places (VMS-specific descrip.vms files still check for it
because it's not clear how to update them all), including configure.
Regenerate the latter and rebake all makefiles.
Finally document that this port is not available any longer.
Using this object we can put an wxImage on or retrieve it from the clipboard. wxImage is stored internally as a blob with either a PNG file (wxMSW, wxGTK) or a TIFF file (wxOSX) and therefore some its metadata (like resolution) is stored on the clipboard too (what is not the case for wxBitmap stored with wxBitmapDataObject). wxImages stored with wxImageDataObject can be used by native applications.

No real changes, just clean up sources by removing trailing spaces from
all the non-generated files.
This should hopefully avoid future commits mixing significant changes
with insignificant whitespace ones.
Fix a copy-and-pasto in the header and also mention that wxURLDataObject
derives from wxDataObjectComposite, and not wxTextDataObject, in wxGTK
too.
Also add a note about the exact base class being an implementation
detail.

This merges in the latest sources from GSoC 2014 wxQt project with just a few
minor corrections, mostly undoing wrong changes to common files in that branch
(results of a previous bad merge?) and getting rid of whitespace-only changes.
Also remove debug logging from wxGrid.

This port is not used and is not being worked on, so remove it to reduce the
amount of the code which needs to be updated for every global change.
Also remove tests for VisualAge compiler which isn't used since ages.

This keyword is not expanded by Git which means it's not replaced with the
correct revision value in the releases made using git-based scripts and it's
confusing to have lines with unexpanded "$Id$" in the released files. As
expanding them with Git is not that simple (it could be done with git archive
and export-subst attribute) and there are not many benefits in having them in
the first place, just remove all these lines.
If nothing else, this will make an eventual transition to Git simpler.

an example showing how can this be done to the documentation.
